The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood – did they just like to paint readheads?

Currently all young English female TV presenters have long red hair. The Pre-Raphaelite look is everywhere from tea towels to mouse pads. But the PRB had a strong religious agenda, rather like the Nazarenes but without the sandals. Rosemary Clegg shows us the paintings which don't appear on greetings cards.
